The Chicago Bulls are reviving one of their most recognizable looks, unveiling a black Statement Edition jersey with red pinstripes for the 2025-26 NBA season.
The team introduced the uniform on Tuesday, Aug. 5, marking only the third Statement Edition design in the franchise’s nearly 60-year history. The pinstriped set first appeared during the 1995-96 campaign, when Michael Jordan led Chicago to a 72-10 record and an NBA championship. It returned for the 1996-97, 2007-08 and 2012-13 seasons but has not been worn since 2013.
Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman, who helped the Bulls win back-to-back titles while wearing the original design, assisted with the reveal. “I remember when we first introduced this. It was legendary,” Rodman said, calling the jersey his favorite and “brand-new for the new generation.”
Chicago plans to use the uniform on select Statement Edition game nights throughout the upcoming season. Although the franchise has cycled through other black alternates in recent years—some without pinstripes, others with subtle gray ones—this is the first full return of the red-striped version in 12 years.

The design’s influence extends beyond basketball: Major League Baseball’s Chicago White Sox cited the look as inspiration for their 2025 City Connect uniform.
