Former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas claims Savannah James, wife of Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, rejected the idea of her husband joining the Philadelphia 76ers in what he described as a potential blockbuster move.
Arenas made the assertion on July 24, saying Savannah James “didn’t approve” the Sixers as a landing spot. He did not elaborate on when the discussion allegedly occurred or whether any formal talks had taken place between James and Philadelphia’s front office.
The remark surfaced amid periodic speculation about where the four-time MVP might play should he decide to leave Los Angeles. Neither LeBron James nor representatives for the 76ers have publicly commented on Arenas’ statement.
