The Boston Celtics have secured forward Jordan Walsh on a three-year contract extension that will begin with the 2027-28 season, according to reports from Chris Haynes of Amazon Prime and Shams Charania of ESPN.
Charania values the agreement at $15 million, while Haynes places it at $16 million. Walsh is earning approximately $2.41 million this year, the final season of his rookie deal.
Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports that the extension is fully guaranteed for the first two seasons and includes a team option for 2029-30.
Drafted 38th overall out of Arkansas in 2023, Walsh saw limited minutes as a rookie but carved out a steady role by his third campaign. In 2025-26 he appeared in 68 regular-season games, starting 25, and averaged 17.8 minutes, 5.4 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 50.9% from the field, 38.4% from three and 77.2% at the line. The 6-foot-6 wing, boasting a 7-foot-2 wingspan, is known for high energy and defensive versatility.
Walsh would have reached unrestricted free agency next summer without an extension. He is the fifth player—and fourth veteran—to finalize a new deal since the 2026-27 league year opened July 1.
The Celtics have also completed multiyear agreements this offseason with forwards Ron Harper Jr. (four years, $13.7 million) and Neemias Queta (four years, $56 million).
