HOUSTON — The Houston Rockets have re-signed swingman Isaiah Crawford to a four-year, non-guaranteed contract, the club announced on Monday. The agreement converts the 24-year-old from a two-way player to a spot on the 15-man roster.
According to the NBA’s transaction log, the deal is a standard NBA contract rather than another two-way pact. Cap expert David Weiner reports the contract carries team control through 2029, with Houston holding an option on the fourth season.
Team officials did not disclose financial terms, but multiple reports indicate Crawford will earn the league minimum each year. Varun Shankar of The Houston Chronicle pegs the total at roughly $11.27 million, starting at $2.45 million in 2026-27. This season’s salary becomes guaranteed if he remains on the roster when the regular season opens.
Crawford went undrafted out of Louisiana Tech in 2024 and spent his rookie season on a two-way contract with the Sacramento Kings. Houston signed the 6-6 forward to a two-way deal last July and extended a qualifying offer in June to retain his restricted rights.
Limited to 29 NBA appearances across two seasons, Crawford has averaged 4.8 minutes, 2.0 points and 1.1 rebounds per game, including 14 contests with the Rockets last year. He showcased more production in the G League, posting 19.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.1 steals over 20 games for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers while shooting 51.5 percent from the field and 39.2 percent from three-point range.
Adding Crawford temporarily nudges Houston into the luxury tax, noted CapSheets analyst Yossi Gozlan. The club could move back below the threshold by waiving guard JD Davison, whose current salary is non-guaranteed, and then re-signing him—or another player—to a new minimum contract.
Crawford’s agreement closes the book on this offseason’s two-way restricted free agents. Four standard restricted free agents remain unsigned: Jalen Duren, Peyton Watson, Bennedict Mathurin and Spencer Jones.
