Former Seton Hall star Isaiah Whitehead received a warm reception in South Orange on July 22 2026, marking his first public homecoming to the university in several years.
Speaking on campus, Whitehead said he is working to assemble an all-Seton Hall alumni squad for The Basketball Tournament (TBT), the annual summer event that offers a winner-take-all cash prize. “Still a family,” he noted, emphasizing the bond he believes will draw former Pirates back together on the court.
Whitehead did not announce a finalized roster or coaching staff but indicated that conversations with multiple alumni are underway. The guard added that competing under the Seton Hall banner again would be “special for everyone involved.”
The 2026 TBT is scheduled to begin later this summer at regional sites around the United States. Entry deadlines require teams to confirm lineups well in advance, leaving Whitehead a narrow window to lock in commitments.
Seton Hall last appeared in TBT in 2021 with a mixed roster of former college players. Whitehead said he hopes the proposed all-Pirates lineup will draw strong fan support and showcase the program’s enduring camaraderie.
