LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves has been placed at No. 60 on ESPN’s 2025 “NBA Rank,” the network’s yearly poll of roughly 150 analysts that lists the league’s top 100 players heading into the new season.

The 26-year-old jumps 12 spots after finishing last year at No. 72. During the 2024-25 campaign, Reaves set career highs with 20.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 46.0% from the field and 37.7% from three-point range.

Reaves is entering the fifth and final guaranteed season of his contract. He holds a $14 million player option for 2025-26 but is widely expected to decline it in order to test unrestricted free agency. In June, he and his representatives turned down a four-year extension worth nearly $90 million, preferring to seek a deal that could exceed $100 million next summer.

“He just keeps proving himself over and over,” Lakers governor Jeanie Buss told ESPN in April. Los Angeles originally signed Reaves as an undrafted rookie in 2021.

ESPN analysts noted Reaves’ offensive output—he was one of only 20 NBA players to average at least 20 points and five assists last season—but suggested his ranking outside the top 50 reflects concerns about his defensive impact.
