Taelon Peter Released From Two-Way Contract by Pacers

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Pacers have waived guard Taelon Peter, the team’s official transaction log showed at 5:15 p.m. ET on Monday.
Peter, 24, had been on a two-year two-way agreement signed last July after the Pacers picked him 54th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft. News of the impending move surfaced earlier in the afternoon, when league sources informed HoopsHype that Indiana intended to release him.
The 6-3 guard appeared in 38 NBA games as a rookie, averaging 4.5 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists across 12.9 minutes. He shot 38.0% from the field, 32.8% from three-point range and 62.5% at the free-throw line.
With the Noblesville Boom, the Pacers’ G League affiliate, Peter logged 32.5 minutes over 20 contests and posted 14.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game while hitting 41.5% of his shots and 36.3% from deep.
He most recently suited up for Indiana’s Summer League squad in Las Vegas, contributing 10.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals over five games (24.3 MPG) on 50.0% shooting but averaging 2.2 turnovers.
The Pacers can carry up to three two-way players. Even after cutting Peter, the club still holds two-way contracts with Ethan Thompson and Kobe Brown, has extended a two-way qualifying offer to Jalen Slawson, and reportedly plans to add Braden Smith on a similar deal.
