FC Barcelona is in pole position to sign former NBA shooting guard Tyrese Martin, according to Javier Maestro of Encestando. Several European teams are monitoring the 27-year-old, but Barcelona is viewed as the front-runner.
Selected 51st overall in the 2022 draft, Martin logged 122 NBA regular-season appearances with Atlanta, Brooklyn and Philadelphia, averaging 6.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 17.7 minutes. Brooklyn waived him at the 2026 trade deadline, after which he finished the season on a two-way deal with the 76ers before entering unrestricted free agency. If he heads to Spain, it will mark his first professional stint in Europe; he spent the 2023/24 campaign with the G League’s Iowa Wolves.
Real Madrid targets two NBA veterans
Former NBA center Damian Jones is in advanced talks with Real Madrid, reports Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews.com. The 2026 first-round pick, a two-time champion with Golden State, played 279 regular-season games for seven NBA clubs between 2016 and 2024. Since his last NBA action with Cleveland in 2024, the 29-year-old has suited up in China and Puerto Rico.
The Spanish powerhouse is also evaluating Celtics guard Max Shulga, per Javier Molero of Eurohoops. Drafted in the second round in 2025, the former VCU standout appeared in 11 regular-season games for Boston during his rookie year. He was converted from a two-way deal to a standard contract late in the season for cap and tax purposes and made two brief playoff appearances.
Olympiacos refutes report on Jones Garcia offer
Olympiacos has denied making free-agent forward David Jones Garcia a two-year offer worth $3 million annually, Stefan Acevski of Eurohoops writes. The Greek club pursued the 24-year-old last summer before he accepted a two-way contract with San Antonio. The Spurs have extended a two-way qualifying offer again this offseason after Jones Garcia’s 2025/26 campaign was cut short by ankle surgery.
