The Detroit Pistons have finalized their two-way roster by signing free agent guard Elijah Harkless, the club’s last open two-way slot for the 2026-27 season.
Harkless, 26, went undrafted out of UNLV in 2023 and spent time in both the NBA G League and the Canadian Elite Basketball League before landing a two-way deal with the Utah Jazz during the 2024-25 campaign. Utah converted that agreement into a two-year two-way contract in January 2025, which Harkless completed before entering unrestricted free agency this summer.
Across 36 NBA appearances with the Jazz—including nine starts—the 6’3” guard averaged 5.8 points, 2.3 assists, and 2.1 rebounds in 19.0 minutes per game. Head coach Will Hardy often cited Harkless’s versatile, physical defense as a key asset.
Harkless also delivered strong numbers in the G League, posting 25.3 points and 5.0 assists per contest while shooting .452/.382/.784 over 33 games for the Salt Lake City Stars.
Under league rules, Harkless still has two seasons of two-way eligibility remaining. He joins Isaac Jones and 2026 second-round pick Ugonna Onyenso as Detroit’s current two-way players. Players on two-way contracts may appear in up to 50 regular-season games and will earn $678,882 during the 2026-27 season.
