Veteran swingman Amir Coffey, who spent seven seasons in the NBA, has signed a one-year contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv, the Israeli club announced on Monday.
Coffey, 29, entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota and landed a two-way deal with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019. After three seasons shuttling between the NBA and the G League, he secured a full roster spot in March 2022 and later agreed to a three-year, $11 million contract to stay in Los Angeles.
During the 2024/25 campaign, the 6-7 wing averaged 9.7 points and 2.2 rebounds in 24.3 minutes over 72 games (13 starts) for the Clippers, shooting 47.1% from the field, 40.9% from three and 89.1% at the foul line. Last offseason, he joined the Milwaukee Bucks under former coach Doc Rivers but struggled to find a role and was dealt to the Phoenix Suns at the February trade deadline. Coffey finished the 2025/26 season with combined averages of 3.2 points and 1.2 rebounds in 10.7 minutes across 46 appearances.
Hapoel Tel Aviv posted a 23-15 record in EuroLeague play last season before falling to Real Madrid in the first round of the playoffs. Domestically, the club went 22-4 and reached the Israeli league finals, where it lost to Maccabi Tel Aviv. Coffey joins a roster that already features former NBA players Vasilije Micic, Ish Wainright, Tyler Ennis and Daniel Oturu.
The deal marks Coffey’s first professional stint outside the United States and adds another proven scorer to a Hapoel squad aiming to build on last year’s deep runs in both international and domestic competitions.
