INDIANAPOLIS — September 23, 2025: The Indiana Pacers have reached agreement with veteran point guard Monte Morris on a one-year, non-guaranteed contract, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The deal gives Indiana a 14th player heading into training camp with 13 others already holding fully guaranteed spots. Because the Pacers were at the offseason roster limit, the club will have to make a corresponding move before Morris can be officially added to the opening-night lineup.
Morris, 30, bolsters a backcourt that will be without All-Star playmaker Tyrese Haliburton for the entire season. Andrew Nembhard and T.J. McConnell are expected to handle most of the minutes at the point, with Morris providing experienced depth behind them.
Last season, the 6-foot-2 guard appeared in 45 games off the Phoenix Suns’ bench, averaging 5.2 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 12.7 minutes per contest.
The former Iowa State standout has logged time with Denver, Washington, Detroit and Minnesota in addition to Phoenix. Over 420 regular-season games, he owns career averages of 9.5 points and 3.6 assists in 23.4 minutes, shooting 47.4 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from three-point range.
