NBA insider Shams Charania told ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith that three franchises are mentioned most often by league executives when discussing LeBron James’s next destination: the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers.
“When I talk to teams around the league, the names I keep hearing are Cleveland, Miami and Philadelphia,” Charania said during the broadcast.
His remarks suggest those clubs have generated the strongest momentum as the 39-year-old superstar weighs free agency, though other reported contenders — including the Warriors, Timberwolves and Nuggets — have not been ruled out.
Cleveland Connection Remains Strong
James, a native of nearby Akron, Ohio, has been linked to the Cavaliers since before he announced he would leave the Los Angeles Lakers. Cleveland’s veteran core and realistic championship aspirations continue to fuel speculation about a possible third stint with the organization.
