The Cleveland Cavaliers have reached a one-year agreement with free agent center Thomas Bryant, agents Mark Bartelstein and Zach Kurtin told Shams Charania of ESPN.

Bryant, 28, entered the league as a second-round pick in 2017 and has logged 333 regular-season appearances with the Lakers, Wizards, Nuggets, Heat, and Pacers. He opened last season in Miami before being traded to Indiana on December 15, the first day he became eligible to be moved.

With the Pacers seeking frontcourt help after season-ending Achilles injuries to James Wiseman and Isaiah Jackson, Bryant played 56 games for Indiana, averaging 6.9 points and 3.9 rebounds across 15.1 minutes per contest. During the club’s run to the NBA Finals, he saw limited action in 20 playoff games, posting 2.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 8.4 minutes per outing.

Contract details have not been disclosed, leaving Bryant’s role on Cleveland’s regular-season roster uncertain. The Cavaliers currently have 13 players on standard deals and are expected to avoid carrying a 15th salary into opening night because of luxury-tax considerations. Additional veterans may be invited to compete for the 14th spot.

If Bryant secures a place on the team, he would bolster the depth chart behind starters Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, along with offseason addition Larry Nance Jr.
