Denver, CO — The Denver Nuggets have reached a one-year agreement with veteran point guard Tyus Jones, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Monday. Financial details were not disclosed, but the pact is widely expected to be for the veteran minimum.

Jones, 30, is coming off a challenging 2025-26 campaign in which he split 67 regular-season games among the Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks and Nuggets, averaging 3.0 points and 2.4 assists. He appeared in three postseason contests for Denver after a late-season signing.

Prior to last year, Jones had built a reputation as one of the NBA’s most reliable backup guards, highlighted by a 2024-25 season with the Phoenix Suns in which he posted 10.2 points, 5.3 assists and a 41.4% mark from three-point range. Denver entered free agency without an established reserve behind Jamal Murray after declining Jalen Pickett’s option, making Jones a natural fit.

Timberwolves Extend Enrique Freeman

The Minnesota Timberwolves have retained forward Enrique Freeman on a two-way contract. Freeman, a 2024 second-round pick out of Akron, saw action in four NBA games last season but averaged 16.5 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists with the Iowa Wolves of the G League. He will continue his development between Minneapolis and Iowa while giving Minnesota added frontcourt depth.

Kings Secure Daeqwon Plowden

The Sacramento Kings have converted guard-forward Daeqwon Plowden to his first standard NBA deal, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. The agreement is for two years and $5.1 million.

Plowden, 25, joined the Kings late last season and delivered 10.8 points per game over 32 appearances, earning steady rotation minutes. Sacramento had issued a qualifying offer before the start of free agency, signaling its intent to keep the former Bowling Green standout.
