The Washington Wizards on Monday revealed their 2025-26 City Edition uniforms, reviving the franchise’s beloved gold look from 2006-09 while adding new black accents.
The jerseys, set to debut Nov. 16 against the Brooklyn Nets, feature a wide black stripe across the midsection and a thin white stripe above the word “Washington.” Team officials said both details echo the club’s 2021 “mixtape” City Edition design.
Two black stripes outline the neckline, shoulders and uniform numbers, and a black side panel runs down each short and the waistband. Inside the chest lettering, a silhouette of the Washington Monument appears in gold, while a refreshed Wizards logo sits on the belt buckle. The right leg carries the franchise’s D.C. hand logo in white with a gold outline.
A “DMV” insignia—referencing the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia—returns on the left side of the shorts, repeating an element first seen on the 2021 version.
Senior vice president of marketing Rebecca Winn said fan and player requests for a black-and-gold scheme have grown since Nike launched the City Edition program in 2017. “When Nike directed us to ‘remix’ a former City Edition, we immediately thought of the classic Wizards uniform first worn in 2006,” she noted in a news release.
Washington plans to wear the new set 29 times during the 2025-26 campaign. The team added that a matching City Edition court design will be introduced later.
