Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic tops Serbia’s 18-man list for the July window of 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifying, according to BasketNews. Miami’s Nikola Jovic and Washington’s Tristan Vukcevic also made the preliminary group, while Bogdan Bogdanovic of the Clippers and recently-operated Thunder rookie Nikola Topic will be unavailable.
Jokic nearly guided Serbia past the United States in the 2024 Olympic semifinals before settling for bronze with a victory over Germany. Recent continental results have been less encouraging: Serbia exited EuroBasket 2025 and EuroBasket 2022 in the Round of 16, falling to Finland and Italy, respectively. Jokic skipped the 2023 World Cup, where Bogdanovic led the team to a silver medal.
