The Atlanta Hawks have surveyed the league to determine what forward Jonathan Kuminga could command in a potential trade, league sources told HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.

The inquiry comes just before the NBA Draft and with a key decision looming on Kuminga’s contract. Atlanta holds a $24.3 million team option for the 23-year-old for the 2024-25 season, a choice that must be made before free agency opens.

While front-office officials have checked Kuminga’s market value, Scotto reported that retaining him remains a legitimate scenario. The exploratory calls do not indicate an immediate push to move the third-year forward.

Kuminga, known for his scoring spurts and positional versatility on defense, drew attention during Atlanta’s first-round series against New York, compiling 40 points across two Hawks victories. Those showings have helped keep him on the radar of rival teams.

For now, the Hawks appear committed to evaluating every option—whether that means keeping Kuminga in their long-term plans or using him as a potential trade piece.
