Trade speculation around Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo intensified this week after ESPN’s Ben Golliver and Zach Kram detailed a potential deal that would move the two-time MVP to the Miami Heat.

Under the proposal, Miami would acquire Antetokounmpo, while Milwaukee would receive guard Tyler Herro, center Kelel Ware, forward Nikola Jovic, the No. 13 pick in this month’s NBA Draft, plus the Heat’s first-round selections in 2029 and 2031.

Kram wrote that the framework could benefit both sides, giving Milwaukee a collection of young talent and draft capital while significantly raising Miami’s ceiling following four consecutive seasons in the play-in tournament.

The discussion comes as questions persist about Antetokounmpo’s long-term future in Milwaukee. Bucks co-owner Jimmy Haslam said in May that he hoped to resolve the situation before the June 23 draft.

Miami’s ownership of the No. 13 pick is viewed as a key advantage, providing Milwaukee with an immediate lottery asset. Whether that alone would satisfy the Bucks remains uncertain.

ESPN front-office analyst Bobby Marks noted the Bucks would land a former All-Star in Herro, a 22-year-old center in Ware and multiple future picks, but he raised several questions: Should Miami add forward Jaime Jaquez Jr.? Is Herro part of Milwaukee’s long-term plans or trade fodder for another move? And what would Ware’s arrival mean for center Myles Turner?

Marks also pointed out that league rules tied to Jovic’s rookie-scale contract would prevent the trade from being finalized before July 6.

With the draft less than two weeks away, scenarios involving one of the NBA’s biggest stars continue to dominate the offseason conversation.
