Veteran play-by-play announcer Chris Marlowe confirmed on Wednesday that he will no longer call Denver Nuggets games for Altitude Sports, ending a run that began when the network launched in 2004.

Marlowe revealed his departure on social media, expressing gratitude to viewers, coworkers, and the organization for what he called an “unforgettable” tenure of more than two decades.

The announcement followed a Denver Post report indicating that Altitude is overhauling its Nuggets television crew. According to the newspaper, longtime color analyst Scott Hastings and studio analyst Chris Dempsey are also being removed from the telecast.

Hastings, a former NBA forward who has appeared on Denver sports broadcasts for over 30 years, is expected to remain with Altitude Radio, the report said.

Marlowe, an Olympic gold medalist in volleyball, has built a distinguished broadcasting résumé that includes calling beach volleyball for NBC at multiple Summer Games.

The Denver Post added that Katy Winge and Vic Lombardi are expected to stay on Altitude’s Nuggets coverage. The network has not provided a public explanation for the personnel changes.
