Toronto, ON — The Raptors have begun discussions on a new contract for head coach Darko Rajakovic, league sources told Sportsnet’s Michael Grange. Rajakovic, who guided Toronto to its first postseason berth in four years, is entering the final season of his current deal. A timeline for the extension has not been set.

The move follows last month’s promotion and five-year extension for general manager Bobby Webster, whose new agreement runs through the 2030-31 season, beginning in 2026-27. Webster said the front office prioritized stability after weathering several challenging seasons.

“If you like the people you work with from a professional standpoint, great,” Webster said. “But if you also like them from a personal standpoint… it matters who you work with.”

Wizards keep powder dry after blockbuster trades

Yossi Gozlan of Third Apron reports that Washington will likely stay below the salary cap this summer after using its flexibility during the season to acquire Trae Young and Anthony Davis in separate trades. With the No. 1 overall draft pick secured, the Wizards project to sit about $11 million under the luxury-tax threshold. That estimate assumes Young exercises his $49 million player option; he could decline the option to negotiate a new multiyear deal.

Toppin finishes strong for Pacers

An early foot injury sidelined Obi Toppin for a significant stretch, but the Pacers forward returned to post strong numbers over the closing months of 2025-26, Tony East of Circle City Spin writes. Indiana expects to reenter the Eastern Conference race next season after an injury-plagued campaign.

Sixers target frontcourt help at No. 22

With the 22nd pick in next month’s draft, Philadelphia is widely projected to add size. Mock drafts from Yahoo Sports, Bleacher Report and CBS Sports all link the 76ers to frontcourt prospects. CBS Sports and the latest projection from The Athletic have the club selecting Arizona forward Koa Peat.
