After securing a multiyear deal for executive vice president and general manager Bobby Webster, the Toronto Raptors are expected to shift their focus to head coach Darko Rajakovic, according to sources cited by Hoops Wire.

Rajakovic, 47, has one season remaining on his current contract. He guided Toronto to a 46-36 record and the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference this past year, pushing the Cleveland Cavaliers to seven games before falling in the first round.

The playoff berth represented a major turnaround for a club that had missed the postseason in each of Rajakovic’s first two campaigns on the sideline. Hired in June 2023, the Serbian-born coach became the 10th head coach in franchise history after assistant stints with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies, and a head-coaching stop with the G League’s Tulsa 66ers.

Toronto’s recent extensions for Webster and other front-office personnel signal an emphasis on stability, and a new agreement with Rajakovic would align with that approach. Neither the team nor representatives for the coach have publicly addressed the possibility of an extension.
