The New York Knicks held off a late surge from the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of the NBA Finals, moving ahead 2–0 in the best-of-seven series.
With the clock winding down, Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama—known widely as “Wemby”—had an opportunity to tie the contest, but his last-second attempt rimmed out. The miss preserved the Knicks’ narrow advantage and sealed their second straight win to open the series.
New York controlled much of the game before San Antonio mounted a fourth-quarter comeback. Strong defensive stands in the final moments allowed the Knicks to withstand the push and protect their lead.
The Finals now shift to a pivotal Game 3, where the Spurs will look to respond and the Knicks will aim to extend their edge.
