Bleacher Report analyst Erik Pincus has outlined a theoretical scenario in which LeBron James leaves the Los Angeles Lakers and signs with the Golden State Warriors this summer.
In the proposal, Golden State would offer the four-time NBA champion a two-year contract at the non-taxpayer mid-level exception. Pincus also envisions the Warriors re-signing Kristaps Porzingis on a team-friendly deal, bolstering a roster still aiming to contend for titles.
Pincus emphasized that his idea is strictly an exercise in roster construction, not a report of active negotiations. The concept hinges on the Warriors’ financial flexibility and their desire to maximize what remains of their championship window.
James, 39, said after the Lakers’ postseason exit that he will take time with his family before deciding on the 2024-25 season. Until he makes that call, league speculation about his next move continues to build.
The possibility of James teaming with Stephen Curry is certain to draw attention. The two future Hall of Famers have faced each other repeatedly in the NBA Finals and only briefly shared the floor as teammates in international play.
