The Milwaukee Bucks have singled out Cleveland Cavaliers big man Evan Mobley as the type of cornerstone they would want back in any future deal involving Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.

Fischer’s report, published this week, states that Milwaukee views Mobley as an ideal return should the organization eventually decide to part with its two-time MVP. The 7-footer would headline the kind of package the Bucks would demand, the report adds.

There is no indication the Cavaliers have placed Mobley on the market, nor is there any sign a trade for Antetokounmpo is imminent. The information instead highlights the caliber of player Milwaukee would require to consider moving its franchise centerpiece.

Mobley, 25, has already earned one All-Star selection and is regarded as one of the league’s elite defenders, giving him the age, production and upside typically coveted by teams weighing a rebuild. Cleveland, meanwhile, has built its core around Mobley, Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen and recently acquired James Harden, making any deal involving the young forward unlikely from the Cavaliers’ perspective.

Speculation about Antetokounmpo’s future has persisted for months, routinely drawing in teams with championship aspirations. For now, the link between Milwaukee and Cleveland remains a league talking point rather than an active negotiation.

A May 29, 2026 post from the account @Fullcourtpass echoed Fischer’s reporting, noting that Mobley is “a player the Milwaukee Bucks want to target” if Antetokounmpo ever becomes available.

The situation bears monitoring, but league sources currently characterize the discussion as nothing more than exploratory interest.
