Grizzlies Only Team to Oppose NBA’s New Anti-Tanking Lottery Reforms

The Memphis Grizzlies cast the lone dissenting vote against the National Basketball Association’s newly adopted draft-lottery changes intended to reduce incentives for tanking, Hoops Wire reported.
The measure, which modifies lottery odds to discourage teams from intentionally losing, received approval from the league’s 29 other franchises. With the reforms now in place, the NBA will move forward with the updated system in an effort to strengthen competitive balance.
The Grizzlies did not immediately release a public explanation for their opposition.
