The New York Knicks on September 16, 2025, announced the addition of center Alex Len and forward Matt Ryan to their preseason squad, filling the last two spots on the club’s 21-man training camp roster.
Len, 32, joins on an Exhibit 9 contract after working out for the team earlier in the week. Chosen fifth overall by Phoenix in the 2013 draft, the 7-footer has also suited up for Atlanta, Sacramento, Toronto, Washington and the Los Angeles Lakers. Last season he logged 36 games with the Kings and 10 with the Lakers, averaging 1.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 8.3 minutes. He became a free agent after the campaign.
Ryan, 28, arrives on an Exhibit 10 agreement. The 6-7 wing spent part of last season with New York on a non-guaranteed deal that was later converted to a two-way contract before he was waived on March 1. He appeared in 19 games for the Knicks, totaling 28 points and eight rebounds across 68 minutes. Since making his NBA debut in April 2022, Ryan has played 82 regular-season contests and has converted 40.2 percent of his three-point attempts.
To accommodate the new signings, New York waived guards Dink Pate and Bryson Warren, both of whom had signed Exhibit 10 contracts earlier in the day.
Len and Ryan now join Landry Shamet, Malcolm Brogdon and Garrison Mathews in competition for the team’s lone available veterans-minimum roster spot.
