The Denver Nuggets have agreed to bring free-agent center Moses Brown to training camp, giving the 7-foot-2 veteran an opportunity to compete for a regular-season roster spot.
Contract details were not disclosed, but the arrangement is widely viewed as an Exhibit 10 deal. That structure would allow Denver to steer Brown to its G League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold, with a bonus if he does not make the NBA roster. Grand Rapids recently secured Brown’s returning G League rights.
Brown, 24, owns six seasons of NBA experience and holds career averages of 5.3 points and 4.9 rebounds in limited minutes. Last season he spent most of his time with the G League’s Westchester Knicks, where he posted 17.9 points and 15.7 rebounds per game. He also appeared in four games for the Dallas Mavericks, nearly recording a double-double average during that stretch.
Denver has already added Jonas Valančiūnas this offseason and expects rookie DaRon Holmes II to return from injury. The Nuggets currently have one open roster spot but may keep it vacant to avoid crossing the luxury-tax threshold.
