Trade speculation linking Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Cleveland Cavaliers is expected to resurface once the NBA offseason begins, according to longtime league reporter Gery Woelfel.

Woelfel said several NBA figures believe the Milwaukee Bucks might ultimately move their two-time MVP to Cleveland, with Evan Mobley viewed as the central asset heading back to Wisconsin.

The chatter follows a February inquiry, first detailed by The Stein Line’s Jake Fischer, in which Cleveland asked about Antetokounmpo before the trade deadline. Milwaukee reportedly replied that any deal would have to include Mobley along with every draft pick the Cavaliers could trade, ending talks at that time.

Mobley, 22, is considered a cornerstone in Cleveland, so surrendering him would mark a major philosophical shift. League observers believe such a move might only become plausible if the Cavaliers disappoint in the postseason and seek a bolder path.

For Milwaukee, parting with Antetokounmpo would require a package capable of reshaping the franchise. Mobley’s age, defensive upside and team-control contract fit that description.

Despite renewed buzz, no formal negotiations are known to be underway. For now, league insiders describe the situation as continuing background noise that could gain volume after the playoffs.
