New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson said he plans to “take the high road” as he prepares for his next matchup with Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, the first meeting between the two since Embiid’s 2024 playoff leg grab on Robinson.

The incident, which took place during the 2024 postseason, drew widespread attention when Embiid reached for Robinson’s leg after both players fell to the court. Although no major injuries occurred, the moment added tension to an already physical series.

With another showdown now on the schedule, Robinson told reporters he is focused solely on basketball and does not intend to seek payback. “I’m not worried about the past,” he said. “I’m just here to help my team win.”

The centers are expected to share the floor again when the Knicks and 76ers meet later this week. Robinson emphasized that his priority is rim protection and rebounding, while Embiid, the reigning MVP, remains Philadelphia’s primary scoring threat.

Both clubs enter the contest looking to solidify playoff positioning in the Eastern Conference. For Robinson, however, the personal storyline will stay in the background. “It’s all business,” he said. “Whatever happened before is behind us.”
