Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James turned a routine Game 6 tumble into a light-hearted family gag on Friday night, joking that Houston Texans edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. looks so much like his eldest son, Bronny James, that he could pass as a secret sibling.
The moment unfolded in the third quarter at Crypto.com Arena when James crashed to the floor during the Lakers’ 98-78 series-clinching win over the Houston Rockets. While teammates Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves hurried over to lift him, Anderson—seated courtside—also stepped in to help.
Speaking with reporters after posting 28 points, eight assists and seven rebounds, James called the assist “pretty cool” before cracking a joke that Anderson is “my fourth child.”
“Him and Bronny are twins and nobody knows it,” James said with a grin. “Me and Savannah have been trying to keep it under wraps for a long time—no disrespect to his real parents. Let me not get anything started.”
Side-by-side photos of Anderson and Bronny have circulated online for years, fueling playful speculation about their similarities. The Texans amplified the bit on social media by reposting James’ comments alongside a meme of two identical Spider-Men pointing at each other.
Anderson, who earned All-Pro honors last season, shared video of the courtside encounter on his Instagram story, labeling James “a freaking legend.” The 23-year-old defender also witnessed his look-alike’s brief appearance; Bronny logged three minutes to close out the victory.
According to ESPN Research, James led Los Angeles in both points (139) and assists (50) over the six-game first-round series. The Lakers advance after eliminating Houston, while the viral “twin” storyline added a light touch to the postgame buzz.
