New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns has taken his fandom to the silver screen, appearing as himself in director David Frankel’s new film “The Devil Wears Prada 2.”

The sequel, released in theaters on Friday, May 1, 2026, features Towns at a party hosted by Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) at her Hamptons home. During the scene, Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) gushes over the 7-footer and credits the Knicks’ strong season for making her “thrilled to be a New Yorker.”

Hathaway, a lifelong Knicks supporter, discussed her real-world fandom on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” the night before the premiere. “I’m very chill, loving and calm, but I’m also the type of fan that I considered wearing an OG [Anunoby] jersey out here today,” she told Fallon with a laugh. “When I’m at the game, I want them to know that I know who they are and that they’re gonna win.”

The movie sprinkles in several other sports-adjacent cameos. Singer Ciara, wife of free-agent quarterback Russell Wilson, appears during a Met Gala sequence, while model Winnie Harlow, fiancée of Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma, shows up in a Milan Fashion Week montage.

The film’s debut came one day after the Knicks routed the Atlanta Hawks 140-89 in Game 6 to move on to the Eastern Conference semifinals. Towns logged 12 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the clincher, while OG Anunoby led all scorers with 29 points and seven boards. Hathaway’s enthusiastic remarks aired ahead of the matchup, providing a timely boost for the team’s wing.
