ALL-STAR FORWARD BRANDON INGRAM SIDELINED FOR GAME 6 WITH HEEL ISSUE

TORONTO — The Toronto Raptors will face an elimination game without All-Star forward Brandon Ingram, who was officially ruled out of Friday night’s Game 6 against the Cleveland Cavaliers because of right heel inflammation.
Head coach Darko Rajaković confirmed the decision after Ingram missed the team’s morning shootaround. “The quality and strength of this team is finding ways,” Rajaković said, noting the club is already without guard Immanuel Quickley. “Obviously missing two starters in IQ and BI is a lot, but at the same time we have enough players on this roster to continue going.”
Ingram logged only 11 minutes and scored one point before departing Wednesday’s Game 5 in the second quarter. The Cavaliers won that contest to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven first-round series.
The 28-year-old first hurt the heel on March 23 during warmups for a matchup with the Utah Jazz. He sat out three games late in the regular season and aggravated the injury on Wednesday. Through five postseason games he is averaging 12.0 points on 32.8% shooting, 38.5% from beyond the arc, along with 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
Tipoff for Game 6 at Scotiabank Arena is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
