Former NBA guard Jeff Teague took aim at Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves during the latest episode of the Club 520 podcast, referring to the third-year player as a “real white guy.”
The remark surfaced while Teague and co-hosts discussed the Lakers’ Game 5 loss, recorded earlier this week and posted ahead of Thursday, April 30, 2026. Teague, who played 12 seasons in the league and won a championship with Milwaukee in 2021, did not elaborate on the comment beyond the brief characterization.
Reaves, 27, has been a regular starter for Los Angeles this season, averaging double-digit points and logging heavy minutes in the postseason. The Lakers have not publicly responded to Teague’s comment, and Reaves has yet to address the podcast segment.
Neither the NBA nor the Lakers organization had issued statements on the clip as of Thursday afternoon.
