Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green reignited basketball’s greatest debate on Sept. 10, 2025, telling streamer Kai Cenat during a live Twitch broadcast that he considers LeBron James the greatest player of all time over Michael Jordan.
“MJ had [Scottie] Pippen. Bron was winning games with Matthew Dellavedova. That guy stinks, no disrespect,” Green said, pointing to James’ success alongside role players while Jordan spent his championship years with a perennial All-Star co-star.
Green has unique perspective on James, having faced him in four straight NBA Finals from 2015 to 2018. During that stretch, the Warriors’ core outpaced several Cavaliers rosters built around James and complementary pieces such as Dellavedova, J.R. Smith and Timofey Mozgov.
The four-time champion also acknowledged that James has played with elite teammates — including Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Anthony Davis and, most recently, Luka Doncic — but maintained that the Lakers forward’s ability to elevate lesser-known teammates separates him from Jordan.
Green’s comments add to a long list of current and former players, coaches and analysts who have weighed in on the LeBron-vs.-Jordan discussion, a conversation unlikely to fade anytime soon.
