Mavericks to Sign 7’5″ Center Jamarion Sharp

The Dallas Mavericks are set to add 7-foot-5 center Jamarion Sharp, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Contract details were not disclosed, but the agreement is expected to be an Exhibit 10 deal.
Sharp, 24, joined Dallas for training camp last fall on an Exhibit 10 contract after going undrafted out of Mississippi. He was waived before the regular season and spent the year with the Texas Legends, the Mavericks’ G League affiliate, where he averaged 5.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.1 blocks while shooting 60.1 percent from the field.
The shot-blocking specialist earned a spot on the NBA G League United team that competed in this year’s FIBA Intercontinental Cup.
An Exhibit 10 contract allows Sharp to receive a bonus of up to $85,300 if he is waived again and remains with the Legends for at least 60 days.
Dallas currently has 15 players on standard contracts and two filled two-way slots, leaving one two-way opening available in training camp. Sharp’s signing will bring the offseason roster to 20 players, one below the league maximum.
