Milwaukee, WI — The Milwaukee Bucks plan to name Taylor Jenkins as their new head coach, moving on from Doc Rivers, according to a report published Thursday, April 23, 2026.
Jenkins, 41, most recently coached the Memphis Grizzlies and is expected to take over a Milwaukee roster headlined by two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. Rivers guided the Bucks for just part of one season before the organization opted for the change.
The coaching switch leaves the franchise’s biggest question still unanswered: Antetokounmpo’s long-term commitment. The superstar forward can become a free agent in 2027, and the front office has made clear that securing his future is a top priority.
Terms of Jenkins’ contract were not disclosed, and the Bucks did not release an official statement at the time of publication.
