The Brooklyn Nets are not expected to pursue a blockbuster deal this offseason after officially signing forward Ziaire Williams and center Day’Ron Sharpe, a league source told Brian Lewis of the New York Post.

“There’s no big move coming,” the source said.

While a headline-grabbing trade is off the table, Brooklyn is still exploring smaller transactions that would help the club reach the 2025/26 minimum salary floor. The Nets sit just $649,000 below the floor, but that gap could widen to about $7 million if three players on non-guaranteed minimum contracts are waived to finalize the 15-man roster. Even after meeting the floor, the team would retain roughly $15.5 million in cap space.

“They need to spend about $7 million before the start of the season,” a second league source told Lewis. “They’re going to get to the floor and roll over the rest into the season.”

Lewis also reported that guard Ricky Council IV is poised to join Brooklyn on a partially guaranteed deal. Unlike standard Exhibit 10 agreements, Council’s contract will include a larger partial guarantee, and he is considered unlikely to be waived before opening night.

Chinese forward Fanbo Zeng is viewed as the leading candidate for the Nets’ final two-way slot alongside Tyson Etienne and E.J. Liddell.

Sharpe and Williams each received a slight raise for their patience. The players originally agreed to two-year, $12 million contracts in late June but ultimately signed for $12.5 million. Only the first season is guaranteed, giving both an extra $250,000 in 2025/26 and a chance to earn another $250,000 apiece if their $6.25 million team options for 2027/28 are exercised.
