Charlotte, NC — Charlotte Hornets center Moussa Diabate is listed as questionable for Friday’s win-or-go-home play-in game against the Orlando Magic because of left-hip soreness, the team announced.
The 24-year-old Frenchman logged eight points, 14 rebounds and one block in 36 minutes during Tuesday’s play-in victory over Miami. Over 73 regular-season appearances, he averaged 7.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 block in 26.0 minutes.
Magic look to flip recent trend
Orlando fell to Philadelphia in Wednesday’s play-in but hosts Charlotte on Friday for the Eastern Conference’s No. 8 seed. The Magic won the clubs’ first meeting on Oct. 30 by 16 points, then dropped the next three by margins of 15, 27 and 19.
“They’ve kicked our (expletive) this year,” forward Paolo Banchero said. “We’ve got to be locked in from the jump. It’s going to take even more of an effort, and it’s going to take me playing better, as well, for us to get the win.”
Hawks’ surge credited to Snyder
Atlanta finished the regular season 20-6 after the All-Star break, the NBA’s third-best mark over that span. Guard CJ McCollum praised head coach Quin Snyder for adapting to a reshaped roster following several mid-season trades and early injuries. “We’ve added stuff, we’ve taken stuff out … and evaluated what’s going to work for this group,” McCollum said.
Wizards eager for Anthony Davis pairing
Washington players Trae Young and rookie Alex Sarr expressed enthusiasm about teaming with Anthony Davis when the star big man joins the Wizards in 2026-27. “I’ve never played with a player as talented or as special as A.D.,” Young said, noting that the two have already discussed how their partnership could look on the floor.
