Talen Horton-Tucker keeps NBA window open

Guard Talen Horton-Tucker, who reached an agreement with Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahçe earlier this month, negotiated a 21-day period that allows him to continue pursuing an NBA contract, journalist Marc Stein reported on Substack.

The 24-year-old spent last season with the Chicago Bulls after signing an Exhibit 10 agreement in September 2024. He was the only player on such a deal to secure a spot on a regular-season roster, later converting the contract to standard non-guaranteed status before Chicago guaranteed the salary past the January cutoff.

NBC rolls out new NBA advertisement

During Sunday night’s Baltimore–Buffalo NFL broadcast, NBC aired a promotional spot introducing its NBA announcers and analysts in the style of a starting-lineup presentation. The commercial highlighted the network’s Oct. 21 opening-night doubleheader, part of the league’s new 11-year, $76 billion media package with ABC-ESPN, NBC-Peacock, and Amazon Prime Video.

Vasilije Micic details free-agency interest

Former NBA guard Vasilije Micic, now with Hapoel Tel Aviv, told the “X and Os Chat Podcast” that six teams chased him in free agency. He cited strong competition from Real Madrid, Hapoel, Fenerbahçe, and Olympiacos, while Crvena Zvezda and Anadolu Efes were the first clubs to engage. Micic added that he had no talks with Panathinaikos despite a positive relationship with coach Ergin Ataman, noting that some organizations could not meet his financial terms.

Women’s 3-on-3 league Unrivaled hits $340 million valuation

Unrivaled, the professional women’s 3-on-3 basketball circuit, has been valued at $340 million following its inaugural season, ESPN’s Kendra Andrews reported. League officials plan to use a portion of the investment to expand their Miami venue and add 150 seats. Player salaries will continue to average six figures.
