NEW YORK — April 13, 2026 — TNT analyst Charles Barkley criticized the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday, labeling unnamed players “punks” for disclosing details of a recent team meeting to reporters.
During the “Inside the NBA” broadcast, Barkley reacted to reports that former head coach Doc Rivers told a player to “check my résumé” behind closed doors. “They’ve got some punks in that damn Milwaukee locker room,” Barkley said. “When you leak what happens in team meetings, you a punk. That’s a punk-ass move in my opinion.”
Rivers was dismissed last week after the Bucks missed the playoffs in a season filled with injuries and trade speculation. Although the organization’s struggles extended beyond coaching, the 65-year-old coach became the focal point of criticism, a reality Barkley described as common in professional sports.
Barkley reminded co-analyst Kenny Smith that locker-room conversations are “sacred” and should never reach the media. “You’ve seen fights, you’ve seen players fight coaches, correct? That should never get to the press,” he added.
Milwaukee now faces several offseason questions, including the future of two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. General manager Jon Horst recently acknowledged tension with the franchise star but said he believes the relationship can be repaired.
The Bucks enter the summer without a head coach, with playoff aspirations unmet and, according to Barkley, a locker room culture in need of repair.
