Houston forward/center Chris Cenac Jr. announced on Instagram that he will enter the 2026 NBA Draft, foregoing the option to retain his college eligibility.

The 6-foot-11 freshman started 36 of 37 games for the Cougars in the 2025-26 season, averaging 9.5 points and 7.9 rebounds across 24.8 minutes per game. He converted 30 of 90 attempts from beyond the arc (33.3%) and posted averages of 10.0 points and 12.3 boards in three NCAA tournament outings.

Jeff Goodman of Field of 68 reported that several NBA executives project Cenac as a likely top-20 selection. ESPN’s Jeremy Woo ranks the 19-year-old No. 18 on his latest big board, noting his progress as a freshman and his potential to handle NBA physicality, while Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman slots him at No. 25 in his most recent mock draft, citing team assessments of Cenac’s shooting upside as a key factor.
