Cavaliers expect nearly full roster for Wednesday clash with Hawks

The Cleveland Cavaliers enter Wednesday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks with most of their regular rotation available, a rarity this late in the season.

Cleveland has already locked up home-court advantage for the opening round and sits fourth in the Eastern Conference with three contests remaining, making a move up the standings unlikely. Despite the secure position, head coach J.B. Bickerstaff is not resting players for the matchup that could serve as a first-round preview.

All eyes remain on Donovan Mitchell, who tweaked his ankle late in Sunday’s win over Indiana and skipped Monday’s game in Memphis. The All-Star guard’s status is still to be determined.

Dean Wade (ankle) and rookie Jaylon Tyson (toe) are both listed as questionable. Wade has sat out the last seven games, while Tyson has missed nine. Center Thomas Bryant is the lone Cavalier ruled out, sidelined by a calf strain.

Atlanta, currently fifth in the East and still jockeying for postseason positioning, plans to treat the contest with equal urgency. The Hawks expect to be without only backup big man Jock Landale.

Tipoff is set for Wednesday night, with Cleveland aiming to stay sharp and Atlanta looking to solidify its playoff standing.
