Philadelphia 76ers guard Cameron Payne is expected to sit out for at least two weeks after an MRI confirmed a right hamstring strain, according to The Athletic’s Tony Jones.
Payne exited Saturday’s loss to the Detroit Pistons after nine minutes on the floor and did not return. The follow-up scan conducted Sunday revealed the extent of the injury.
The 31-year-old has appeared in 22 games this season, averaging 7.4 points, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals across 17.0 minutes per contest.
The two-week recovery window stretches beyond the end of the regular season. Philadelphia, currently tied with the Toronto Raptors for sixth place in the Eastern Conference and holding the head-to-head tiebreaker, will re-evaluate Payne once the initial period concludes.
