The Memphis Grizzlies announced on September 6 that center Lawson Lovering and forward Tyler Burton have signed training-camp contracts.

Although the club did not release contract terms, the agreements are expected to be Exhibit 10 deals, which would give Memphis control of the players’ G League rights.

Player Backgrounds

Lovering, who went undrafted after three seasons at Colorado followed by two at Utah, appeared in seven games with the Grizzlies’ Summer League squads in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. He averaged 3.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 12.9 minutes while shooting 62.5% from the field.

Burton spent the 2024-25 season with the Memphis Hustle, posting 2.5 points and 2.9 rebounds across eight games in 12 minutes per outing. The wing played three years at Richmond and two at Villanova before going undrafted in 2024.

Roster Implications

Memphis now has 15 players on guaranteed contracts. All three two-way slots are occupied following this week’s signing of Olivier-Maxence Prosper, bringing the roster to 20 players—one shy of the offseason limit.

Exhibit 10 contracts can be converted to two-way deals before the regular season. Players waived from an Exhibit 10 agreement remain eligible for a bonus of up to $85,300 if they spend at least 60 days with the club’s G League affiliate.
