BOSTON / DENVER — The NBA on Monday announced Jayson Tatum and Nikola Jokic as the league’s Players of the Week for games played March 23-29.
Tatum captured the Eastern Conference award after guiding the Boston Celtics to a 3-0 record. The forward averaged 25.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists over the three wins. His top showing came Sunday in Charlotte, where he poured in 32 points on 12-for-23 shooting, handed out eight assists, pulled down five rebounds and finished without a turnover.
Jokic secured Western Conference honors behind a dominant stretch that included three triple-doubles in four Denver Nuggets victories. The center posted weekly averages of 26.0 points, 17.0 rebounds and 14.0 assists while shooting 56.3 percent from the field, 43.8 percent from three-point range and 77.3 percent at the foul line. It marks Jokic’s third Player of the Week nod this season; he previously won the award in back-to-back weeks in November.
