The Portland Trail Blazers have secured a position in the Western Conference play-in tournament after defeating the Washington Wizards 123-88 at home on Sunday.
Portland’s victory lifted the team to 38-38, guaranteeing a play-in spot and keeping it within 1.5 games of the Los Angeles Clippers for eighth place. A strong finish could still propel the Blazers to that seed, which would place them one win from an outright playoff berth. The franchise has not reached the postseason since 2021.
Rookie forward Toumani Camara paced the Blazers with 23 points, while guard Scoot Henderson added 21. Washington’s Deni Avdija led the Wizards with 20.
Portland now turns its attention to the final stretch of the regular season, aiming to improve its standing before the play-in round begins.
