Draymond Green Frustrated as Warriors Head for Third Consecutive Play-In

The Golden State Warriors are once again staring at the NBA play-in tournament, and veteran forward Draymond Green is openly tired of the routine.

“I’m sick of the play-in,” Green told reporters, according to Angelina Martin of NBC Sports Bay Area. “It seems like we’re a play-in magnet.”

Golden State’s 36-38 record places the team in a familiar position. With only a handful of games remaining, the Warriors trail the Portland Trail Blazers (38-38) and the Los Angeles Clippers (39-36) in the Western Conference standings. Reaching sixth place—and an automatic playoff berth—remains mathematically possible but increasingly unlikely as the schedule dwindles.

This season marks the Warriors’ third straight appearance in the play-in and their fourth in the last six years. Green acknowledged the disappointment but also the opportunity the format provides. “It sucks,” he said, “but it’s great when you want an opportunity to get into the playoffs.”

The Warriors have several games left to improve their seeding, but time is running short—and the play-in tournament awaits once more.
