Phoenix, AZ — The Phoenix Suns have signed free-agent guard Alex Schumacher to a training-camp deal, the team announced on September 5.
The agreement is an Exhibit 10 contract, according to reports from Paul Garcia of Spot Up Shot and Keith Smith of Spotrac. The clause allows the 24-year-old to earn a bonus of up to $85,300 if he spends at least 60 days with the Suns’ G League affiliate, the Valley Suns.
Schumacher went undrafted out of Seattle University in 2024 and split his rookie professional season between the Windy City Bulls and the Valley Suns following a March trade. Across 48 G League appearances, he averaged 8.2 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.7 rebounds in 22.6 minutes per game while shooting 39.5 percent from the field, 24.1 percent from three-point range, and 82.5 percent at the foul line.
With Schumacher in the fold, Phoenix now has 19 players under contract, leaving the club two shy of the offseason maximum of 21.
