The Memphis Grizzlies have reached a 10-day agreement with French forward Adama-Alpha Bal, according to a report from HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.
Bal, 6-foot-7, went undrafted last year after completing his college career at Santa Clara. He spent the current season with the NBA G League’s Westchester Knicks, joining the affiliate after the New York Knicks signed and waived him in October.
Through 29 G League appearances, the 22-year-old has averaged 7.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 18.4 minutes while shooting 35.4 percent from the floor.
Bal earned two First Team All-West Coast Conference nods at Santa Clara. As a senior, he posted 13.4 points, 3.1 assists and 2.8 rebounds across 31.2 minutes per game. Over 107 collegiate contests—including two seasons at Arizona—he connected on 36.9 percent of his three-point attempts.
Memphis already has Tyler Burton and DeJon Jarreau on 10-day contracts and is operating with multiple hardship exceptions because of a lengthy injury list. The club has ruled six players out for the season, and three more missed Friday’s game against Houston with various ailments.
