MINNEAPOLIS — The NBA has issued a $50,000 fine to Minnesota Timberwolves center/forward Naz Reid for publicly questioning the integrity of game officials, the league announced Friday.

The incident took place with 4:13 remaining in overtime of Wednesday’s comeback victory over the Houston Rockets. Reid received a technical foul and was ejected after disputing calls on the floor.

The 6-foot-9 big man, an undrafted free agent who captured the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award in 2024, is again considered a leading candidate for the honor this season. Through 70 games in 2025-26, Reid is averaging 13.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.0 block while shooting 46.6% from the field, 37.2% from three-point range and 73.2% at the free-throw line.

Reid is earning roughly $21.6 million in the first year of a five-year, $125 million contract, making the penalty a marginal hit to his overall earnings.
